La pubblicazione fa parte della collana “Quaderni” realizzati dal fotografo Michele Alberto Sereni, e va ben oltre la semplice documentazione fotografica: è un racconto per immagini attorno agli eventi della Galleria durante le fasi di allestimento e di inaugurazione della mostra Selfmanagement. I quaderni sono pubblicati in serie limitata.

Il progetto espositivo Selfmanagement della Galleria Enrico Astuni é un esperimento di “selfmanagement” degli artisti stessi nell’era dei social networks. Nasce dalla creazione di un gruppo di conversazione sull’applicazione di messaggistica mobile WhatsApp in grado di sostituire, alla figura del curatore esterno, la complessità riflessiva interna e il dialogo spontaneo di una micro comunità di artisti invitati per affinità di interesse o per ricchezza di biodiversità. Il progetto sottolinea il cambiamento in corso in linea alle tendenze attuali che vedono artisti impegnati nella curatela delle più importanti manifestazioni artistiche (tra le altre Manifesta, Zurigo, 2016; Biennale di Venezia, 2015; Documenta, Kassel, 2012) ed evidenzia come l’attitudine a immaginare il futuro sia sempre più il risultato di un approccio iperconnettivo piuttosto che autoreferenziale e celebrativo.

This publication is part of the series “Quaderni” realized by the photographer Michele Alberto Sereni, and it goes much over the simple photographic documentation: by images it tells a story around the events of the Galleria Enrico Astuni during the phases of preparation and opening of the show Selfmanagement. The albums are published in limited series.

Galleria Enrico Astuni Selfmanagent exhibition project is an experiment in “selfmanagement” by the artists themselves in the era of social networks. The exhibition raises from the creation of a group of conversation that utilize messaging WhatsApp mobile application. ‘The group’ will be able to replace the figure of the external curator by its inside reflexive complexity, and by the spontaneous dialogue of the micro-community of artists invited for affinity of interest or for wealth of biodiversity. The project underlines the ongoing change in line with current trends, that see artists involved in curating the most important artistic events (among others Manifesta, Zurich, 2016; Venice Biennale, 2015; Documenta, Kassel, 2012), and highlights how the attitude to imagine the future is increasingly the result of a hyper connectivity approach rather than self-referential and celebratory.
